DIAGNOSIS

Receiving an autism diagnosis can be overwhelming, and you will probably have many questions about what happens next. We are here to support you through the intake process and hopefully get your love one the necessary therapeutic services as quickly as possible.

If you do not have a diagnosis – Please click the Rescources button below for a list of where to get an official medical diagnosis within New Mexico. To authorize ABA therapy, most insurance providers will require a comprehensive diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder by a licensed medical professional, and a prescription for ABA therapy.

If you have a diagnosis – If your loved one already has a diagnosis, please move to step one.

They will also guide you through the steps to getting started with ABA therapy. If you feel that we are a good fit for you and your family at this step you can let us know and you will be placed on our waitlist for your desired location. STEP 2: COMPLIMENTARY TOUR OF PRISM

Take-a -tour-prism-Autism.png

When we are closer to being able to provide services for your child we will reach out to set up a complimentary tour at the Prism location that is your preference. During this time, we will ask you some questions about your child, their strengths and challenges, and get to know your child and your family better. You will learn more about our organization, our style of treatment, and what makes us different from other ABA providers. When you leave, you will have a better understanding of what treatment would look like, how ABA can help, and we will get your full insurance information at this time to move us into step 3.

STEP 3: INSURANCE VERIFICATION

Navigating insurance benefits can be confusing, and we want to make this process as easy as possible.

For ABA services Prism is currently in-network with the following insurance providers, listed to the side. This list is continually updated and providers vary . When we are looking at services for your child we will reach out for an insurace verification if we did not get this information from during the tour. Please note that just because we may be in-network does not mean it always crosses over. The best thing to do is have us verify your insurance, and we will let you know. We are happy to verify your plan benefits for you and then go over the information we collected from your provider with you. We will help you understand any out of pocket costs you might be responsible for (co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, out-of-pocket max). When we get to this stage we will contact you to complete the Insurance Verification Form and get an updated schedule of your childs availability. Once you have completed this quick form, our billing departmant will reach out to you as soon as they have gathered all the neccassary infomation.

Once we have the adequate staff for your love one, confirm you feel comfortable with the insurance, and we will confirm your child’s updated schedule and set up an accessment. During the evaluation, you can anticipate our team of professionals to collect information about your love one in the areas of play, behavior, social skills, etc.  Our team will discuss what your love ones treatment plan may look like and walk you through the recommendations. Once we have made sure the treatment plan and your family goals align, we will submit it to the insurance carrier for authorization of therapy services.

STEP 5: STARTING SERVICES

On your child’s first day you will meet your team of committed professionals that will be working one-on-one with your child. Therapy is always supervised by a BCBA, and carried out by trained & Certified Registered Behavior Technicians. Your team will continually records data and milestones met throughout the therapy sessions to show progress or to make adjustments to your child’s individualized treatment plan. Throughout the course of treatment, goals will be updated and shared with you during these meetings. During the meetings, you will be able to collaborate with your child’s team and develop goals together.
